A comprehensive framework for high fidelity computations of two-species compressible turbulent flows

چکیده

A strategy for scale-resolving simulations of bi-species turbulent flows is presented. It relies on a combination Zonal Detached Eddy Simulation (ZDES) and an original low-dissipative version the AUSM scheme that adapts its dissipation to capture flow discontinuities while ensuring low numerical level in resolved turbulence regions. The corresponding discretized equations are thoroughly detailed. This comprehensive framework evaluated coaxial Air/Argon jet configuration investigated experimentally by Clifton Cutler [1]. robust method based white noise generate velocity fluctuations at inlet attached boundary layers together with dynamic forcing applied first time curvilinear ZDES mode 3. shown taking into account incoming provided this approach improves prediction mixing process early stages layer. good agreement experiment also observed RANS description as permitted 2 (2020) [2] where switch between LES zones set dynamically model itself.

Numerical simulation of turbulent compressible flows in a C-D nozzle with different divergence angles

Compressible gas flow inside a convergent-divergent nozzle and its exhaust plume atdifferent nozzle pressure ratios (NPR) have been numerically studied with severalturbulence models. The numerical results reveal that, the SST k–ω model give the bestresults compared with other models in time and accuracy. The effect of changes in value ofdivergence half-angle (ε ) on the nozzle performance, thru...

Design of a Variational Multiscale Method for Turbulent Compressible Flows

A spectral-element framework is presented for the simulation of subsonic compressible high-Reynolds-number flows. The focus of the work is maximizing the efficiency of the computational schemes to enable unsteady simulations with a large number of spatial and temporal degrees of freedom. A collocation scheme is combined with optimized computational kernels to provide a residual evaluation with ...

Diffusion in supersonic turbulent compressible flows.

We investigate diffusion in supersonic turbulent compressible flows. Supersonic turbulence can be characterized as network of interacting shocks. We consider flows with different rms Mach numbers and where energy necessary to maintain dynamical equilibrium is inserted at different spatial scales. We find that turbulent transport exhibits superdiffusive behavior due to induced bulk motions. In a...

Parallel simulation of three-dimensional complex flows: Application to two-phase compressible flows and turbulent wakes

In this paper, we present parallel simulations of three-dimensional complex flows obtained on an ORIGIN 3800 computer and on homogeneous and heterogeneous (processors of different speeds and RAM) computational grids. The solver under consideration, which is representative of modern numerics used in industrial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software, is based on a mixed element-volume method...
